NFL season predictions

4 September 2008 by David in Football, Texans

Today marks the start of the NFL season, so I figure it’s time for some solid predictions. I want to note that these aren’t supposed to be funny-ha-ha or specifically designed to elicit a response. These are truly what I believe will happen in the upcoming season.
Ten (Not so/Maybe) Bold Predictions
If you’re feeling up to [...]

Most interesting college football jersey so far: Colorado Buffaloes

1 September 2008 by David in Football, Uniforms

There had been rumors that Colorado was coming strong this season with a fairly innovative jersey. Crazy jerseys have been done before in the NCAA (usually by Oregon), but Colorado usually runs a fairly typical route.
But when my brother and I were watching the game last night, we took immediate notice of something that looked [...]

Welcome to college football! GO COCKS!

28 August 2008 by David in Football, Gamecocks

I don’t usually use all caps or exclamation marks in my headers (I’m not really a cheerleader kind of guy), but today definitely warrants it. The South Carolina Gamecocks open the college football season tonight on ESPN against NC State. (That picture is starting QB Tommy Beecher. Because I’m not in South Carolina I don’t [...]

Two fantasy football drafts in the books

27 August 2008 by David in Football

This week was outstanding. Two out of three fantasy drafts completed, and I think I’m doing alright. In honor of Adam Kaye’s request (even though Baylor still sucks at Div-I anything), I’m posting the results.
Get Money Crew—League “High School Brewsical”
Obviously I had the first pick so I was constantly picking back-to-back—the best position to be [...]

Most would consider this bad practice, you know, possibly letting other people in your league know who you’re thinking about taking before the draft. I’m not scared of them.

Don’t mess with Texans

18 August 2008 by David in Design, Football, Texans

I try real hard not to curse in my blog posts, but I don’t know whose jackass idea it was to create this piece of crap:

I know it’s hard to tell, but that’s the Houston Texans secondary logo. That stupid thing is creeping all throughout the organization like a cancer. They started giving it out [...]

Darren McFadden what have you done is hilarious

19 May 2008 by David in Football, Ridiculous

Former Arkansas running back and soon to be NFL god/bust (take your pick until Week 3 of next season) took his time to make sure his all-American sedan looked like it was, well, not an all-American sedan:

Now, if I weren’t so sure that regular sized rims were bigger than my face, I’d say his rims [...]

University of Spurrier Carolina

15 April 2008 by David in Football, Gamecocks

This was pointed out to me on another blog, but I can’t remember which one, so I can’t give due credit (and I want to!). But this piece was written up in The State newspaper, the major newspaper for South Carolina, and especially Columbia:
Garcia back early? Coach Steve Spurrier said there is a chance suspended [...]

Energy gel, Chad Johnson, and creepy girls

My boss knows how much I love energy drinks. This became beneficial for me recently when her husband recently received an onslaught of energy related products. (He works as the head of the Adobe Users Group in Houston; apparently, someone thought the people who use Adobe products [like Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.] are up all [...]
