The Worst Sports Uniforms of All-Time

Houston Astros

Found out recently that current NY Rangers hockey player Sean Avery used to intern at Vogue (yes, the magazine) and that while he was there compiled a list of the worst sports uniforms of all-time. It’s pretty cool to check out, even if you’ve just got a second to flip through it.

I am, however, a little upset that the first one on the list is the Astros tequila sunrise jerseys (see picture). I do believe those uniforms are awesome. There hasn’t been a single Astros uniform that wouldn’t sell as a good throwback. Compare that to, say, the Philadelphia Eagles throwback football uniforms on the aforementioned list.

There are some pretty good (bad?) ones in there, and I’d like to especially point out Serena Williams from Wimbledon. She already looks like The Predator, and the outfit she wore to the club court made her just look like a cross-dresser. I cannot stand it. I do know that a lot of athletes like to bring their fashion to the court and use minor dress code gaps in the rules to sprot their own style, but I guess tennis really doesn’t care as long as you have shoes on your feet and you have all your naughties covered. Marchar, David? Any word on what the on-court dress code is for tennis?

You have to wear all white at Wimbledon but no rules for other tournys. I think you have to wear a shirt though.
