The Mortenshrud Church is beautiful

I’ve always loved architecture, and when I was living in New York and hating life and thinking about going back to school like everyone else when they have no direction, I wanted to head to the University of Texas to study architecture. It’s like a brilliant and beautiful blend of physics and design, two things I enjoy.

Either way, I also love church. So when I ran across the Mortensrud Church in Oslo, I was taken with it. I love the idea of combining the physical “church” with the physical “earth”—it’s kinda like the way God made Adam, the very church forming the earth. Anyway, take a look at some of the photos, they’re pretty stunning. More pictures after the jump.

Also, I’m a Houstonian to the core which means I don’t know a lot about living in other places. I always see beautiful imagery of mountains and fjords and what not (just go watch any Sigur Ros music video) and always wonder what it’s like. This just furthers that wonder.

Make sure to check out the church in depth.
